FAQs – Mixing and Production
Q: How do we start?
A: You can contact me via the form and send me all details. I will get back to you with a date, price and a link for you to upload your raw files.
Q: What does your mixing process look like?
A: You send me your track or your stems (clean & without FX, plus a rough mix). I listen, give feedback (possible via Google Meet or Zoom), and then start the mix. 2-3 revisions are included. You receive a high quality premaster file you can hand out to the mastering engineer. (Backing Tracks come as digital mastered files for your live engine.)
Q: What is a stem mix vs. stereo mix?
A: A stereo mix is a single final audio file (WAV, typically 24–32 bit) that contains the complete mix. This is the version you send directly to a mastering engineer. A stem mix includes several grouped audio files (usually up to 8 stems, such as drums, bass, vocals, etc.). These are pre-mixed subgroups that give the mastering engineer more flexibility to make adjustments during the mastering process.
Q: What is a premaster?
A: This is the final mix prepared for mastering, usually exported as a 24-bit WAV with around –6 dB headroom. It can be delivered as a stereo file or as stem premasters for additional flexibility.
Q: How long will it take to mix 3 tracks?
A: Usually 5–7 days. Express delivery possible.
Q: What genres do you work with?
A: Wave, Electro, Synth, Indie, Dark Pop, Post-Punk, Techno, experimental electronics. I also accept some corporate requests like audio-visual-projects or sound designs.
Q: Why should I work with you?
A. I listen like an artist and mix like an engineer. I approach music with respect and sensibility. As I work with vocals myself I have a good idea of how these can sit in the mix. I work based on how music needs to feel, not just how it should sound.
Q: Can I also just ask for your advise on my own mix?
A: Sure, just book Mixing Feedback or you contact me via Echio.com for demo feedback.
FAQs – Sound Identity Sessions
1. Who are these sessions for?
These sessions are for artists who want to reconnect with their own voice, explore their ideas, and gain confidence in their creative decisions - before, during, or alongside production and mixing.
2. Do I need to have finished tracks?
Not at all. You can bring anything: rough sketches, unfinished ideas, references, or even just concepts you’re thinking about. It’s about exploring and understanding your sound.
3. Are these sessions about mixing or production?
Not in the first place. While you can book them alongside mixing or production, the focus here is on your artistic voice and creative decisions - not on technical polishing.
But we can discuss your technical questions along the way.
4. How long is a session?
Sessions usually last 2–3 hours. We take the time to listen, reflect, and explore your ideas deeply.

8. Why are these sessions different from other coaching?
They are based on my experience as an artist in songwriting, production, and performing—especially in post-punk and dark wave.
This isn’t about judging or giving rules; it’s about reflecting, questioning, and supporting you in finding your own path.
9. How much does it cost?
